Gaultheria pr. Big Berry is a dwarf evergreen shrub, also known as Checkerberry or Partridge Berry, that is popular as a groundcover for its attractive, glossy green leaves and abundance of large, bright red berries.

This variety is known for producing more, and larger, berries than typical types, which provide a vibrant display from autumn through winter.

It is hardy, thrives in acidic soil in partial shade, and its leaves have a wintergreen fragrance when crushed.
